Pope on Sexual Abuse - A light on the hill

Every year in the parishes that I serve we hold a seminar for all clergy and staff and those lay ministers who serve and work with children and vulnerable adults. The purpose of these seminars is to provide on going education in the means of securing the safety of our children and vulnerable adults. Safety from sexual and other forms of abuse. As parents and, for some of us, victims of abuse in the past this is a critically important task.

Pope Benedict was quite candid about this concern in his Christmas message to the Vatican Staff. Father Robert Barron offers the following review of that message.

Fr. Barron is a professor at St Mary's of the Lake Seminary in Mundelein, Illinois. He essays and other resources can be found at http://www.wordonfire.org/.
